Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) & Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Nursing Certificate

As the population of senior citizens in the United States increases dramatically, so does the need for Certified Nursing Assistants and Geriatric Nursing Assistants. This class is designed for the individual who wants to enter a thriving profession. By obtaining the CNA or GNA certificate, participants will be qualified to work in a long-term care facility or in the home to aid the elderly in a higher quality of life with dignity and purpose.

A student must pass the written and clinical component of an exam.

Students:

  • Fulfill their school’s internship requirements
Certificate Icon

Participants who complete the course will receive a Maryland certified nurse training program certificate.

Students who complete this program are required to maintain employment in a facility for at least four months after receiving their license.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training

This 10-hour course is designed for those who want to work in a profession where health and safety training is a must. Whether it is government or industry the participant is preparing for, the OSHA training class offers an excellent starting point for safety and health concerns on the job.

Participants who complete the class receive a 10-Hour General Industry Safety & Health training certification that never expires.

Remedial English

This nine-week course is designed for students who have been out of school for some time or are returning to the job market after a significant lapse.

This course includes:

  • Resume writing
  • Interview skills
  • SMART goals
  • Other soft skills essential to success in today’s job market!

Classes meet virtually for two hours, two days per week.

Remedial English
English 101

English 101

This class is designed for the student with basic English skills who wants to expand their knowledge of the English language.

This course includes the study and application of the principles of writing.

Students will:

  • Read and analyze texts
  • Write and discuss what they have read
  • Develop descriptive and argumentative essays in response to their reading

The student of English 101 will learn to develop ideas fully, organize them effectively, and express them clearly in writing.

Remedial Math

In today’s world, where math functions are automated by computers and smart phones, remedial math may seem like something from the past. What happens when technology fails or is not available? Math skills are necessary to thrive in many jobs. It’s never too late to learn basic math skills.

Math Icon

Learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide without the use of a computer, smartphone or calculator.

Those operating a cash register or using basic math for building or fixing for their job will find this course especially useful.

Event and Meeting Planning

The hospitality industry is surging now as more people travel. This creates a need for Event and Meeting Planners to join the industry.

Guest speakers from industry leaders, such as Aloft Hotels, Marriot Hotels, and exhibition experts. Learning how to use association software systems and budget management are a part of this course.

Event and Meeting Planners are detail oriented and provide personalized attention for clients with special events held at a full-service hotel.

Water Technician Training

This course provides an introduction for adults who want to enter the career path of understanding water training and workforce development programs.
