Community Health Advisor Certificate Obtained by Case Manager Jatmna Polanco

A Case Manager with Mission of Love Charities, Jatmna Polanco De Cabrera, recently worked on and received a Community Health Advisor Certificate. She took a class with University of Maryland on the topic of Community Health. In Polanco’s role as a Case Manager with Mission of Love Charities, she interacts with members that have health challenges. With training, she has learned to recognize certain serious health conditions.

A Community Health Advisor Certificate gives Polanco foundational training about health, wellness, cancer prevention and early detection. This broad based course on health gives her the knowledge to help her to better serve clients at Mission of Love Charities. In her role as Case Manager, she can put members affected by health issues in touch with community resources that help them.

University of Maryland’s Health Advisor training taught her more specifically about Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Lung Cancer, and Colorectal Cancer, all common forms of cancer that affect the wellness of the local population. Polanco will continue her training once per month and be offered information about even more types of cancers and other health and wellness topics.
